Neil Stenhouse

Neil is a doctoral student in communication and graduate research assistant for 4C. His interests include communicating the kinds of risks involved with climate change, building understanding of (and support for) transformations of the global energy system, and changing media systems to improve the democratic process.

At 4C, Neil is currently working on a survey of TV weathercasters’ views on climate change, a study relating climate attitudes to perceived personal experience of climate change, and a project using narrative mediation to attempt to bridge divides in the climate debate.

Prior to arriving at Mason, Neil studied social cognition, cognitive ergonomics, and philosophy of science at the University of Otago, New Zealand. He also studied international relations and climate politics at the University of Auckland.
