Our partnership with the National Park Service started in 2012, when we jointly developed a climate change communication summer internship program with the NPS National Capital Region’s Urban Ecology Research Learning Alliance (UERLA). Our interns work with staff in a national park to develop materials that communicate the impact of climate change on natural, cultural, and recreational resources in the park. The NPS cares for special places saved by the American people so that all may experience our heritage; they aim to engage park visitors in conversations about how climate change is impacting those resources.
