Nicholas (Nickie) Mitch was born and raised in southern Indiana. A junior at Bowdoin College, Nickie is majoring in Government and Legal Studies and Environmental Studies with a minor in Earth and Oceanographic Science. Last summer, he worked as a Field Naturalist Educator for the Damariscotta River Association and at Bowdoin he holds a variety of positions, including: Associate Editor of The Bowdoin Orient; Assistant Head Tour Guide for the Office of Admissions; and Eco-Rep for the Office of Sustainability. In the environmental field, he is especially interested in coastal, water, and wetlands issues, as well as urban planning and food systems. When not in Maine or D.C., he can be found walking his dog, Vienna.
