Julia Fine

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Julia C. Fine is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Center for Climate Change Communication. Her research interests lie at the intersection of language and climate justice, with a focus on how discourse and interaction can encourage collective climate action. Her past research has examined the connections between Indigenous language reclamation and climate justice, explored U.S. climate activists’ experiences with interpersonal climate conversations, and analyzed the content and outcomes of climate conversations between activists and their friends and family. She received her PhD in Linguistics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
